Frank Thomas is apparently the best hitter EVER. I think he was good back in the 90's but I wouldn't say he was the best ever. That's a little much.

Vinnie, 11:31 PM: It's a compelling argument (haven't read it all yet; I'll finish it tomorrow) because I do agree that he was the best hitter of his "era" or "generation" or whatever you wanna call any selected period of time generally contained within his prime. Actually, until Pujols, I always say he was the best hitter in our lifetime (not very long, but still).

The mistake this guy is making is measuring his sheer numbers against guys of very different eras, without regarding how the numbers stack against league norms. Whether Thomas juiced or not, he still played in an offense-friendly era.
