In what was the greatest performance since a certain fullback ran for 4 touchdowns for Polk High, Rex Grossman proved that Bears fans will soon forget the days when they thrilled the nation with their "T" formation. Rex "The Wonder Dog" looked cool all day in the pocket as he picked apart the Lions supposed "quality" defense. The Bears line did not give up any sacks (the Lions had 5 last week against the Seahawks) and the defense punished Lion receivers (aka Roy Williams) all day.
This game illustrated that the NFC North runs through FIB land for really the first time since the early 90's when DITKA was roaming the sidelines.
In the words of Al Bundy: " how do you plan on stopping the 1966 All-City fullback???"

Just so everyone knows, Pat predicted an undefeated Notre Dame team.
Pat is a walking contradiction, because you are both right. I distinctly remember Pat telling me that Notre Dame would lose to Michigan, and I distinctly remember Pat saying that Notre Dame would go undefeated and win the championship.
Plus, title your posts Pat.
Where's your Kyle Orton now? While I have been very critical of Mr. Jerry Angelo, I have always stood behind Rex. He has Brett Favre like ability, now only for that durability.

Minor point, but just for the record, the Bears won as many division titles last season as they did in all of the 1990s.
To defend Pat, the Ditka/Bears dominance era effectively lasted until 1991. Sure, they had a hiccup in 1990 (because of some big injuries, if I'm not mistaken), but they were still going strong through '91 with a lot of that core group from the 80s still in tact. Then Ditka was fired after '92. So I think it's accurate to say that up until the "early 90s," the Bearsss were still considered the team to beat in the old NFC Central.
"Every time they won a title they weren't thought of that highly before the season began. This year they are clearly the favorites which wasn't the case last year and 2001."
I got no beef with that.
