This will most likely be the only time I will be annoyed with your play-by-play, but jesus christ, will you shut the fuck up about Chris Capuano not being an all-star. Yes, I agree that he has had a fine season, but there is no way he deserves to be on the roster ahead of Garciapara, PERIOD. And why the hell do you guys keep saying, "Phil Garner better be watching this game...Cappy is the only guy to replace Martinez." WHAT!!!! Um, in case you fuckers didn't know, the Astro's were in a tough matchup against the division leading Cardinals tonight. If Garner was playing attentio n to Capuano's performance, he should be fucking fired. Quit being homer's you jag's, it only makes you guys sound like 2, 10 year old retard kids trying to do play-by-play for a hockey game. Call the game, add your "baseball" insight, but please, stop trying to convince fans that Capuano should be in instead of Garciapara.

No, he should not be there in place of Nomar. But he should be there in place of Derrick Turnbow, Brian Fuentes, Chris Carpenter or Carlos Zambrano.
...and yes, I do realize that Zambrano is part of the "He's the only good player on the team" group that goes to the All-Star game. But the point remains that Capuano has pitched better than (or at least equally good as) Zambrano this season.
Astro's? Homer's? Jag's?

Yeah, I think they have a pretty legit argument. I would say yes ahead of Fuentes and Turnbow and arguably Carpenter (it's really close). He and Zambrano are hard to compare because they've been good in very different ways this year. I would say Zambrano is better and slightly more deserving, but I did have Capuano on my team.
