Pro's and Con's of tonight's Homerun Derby
>> Monday
The night was filled with some great moments, mostly at the expense of other's, so let's review:
Pro: Joe Morgan alomost getting hit from homerun by Ryan Howard
Con: Almost....
Pro: Boomer using the pop-culture reference "who let the dog's out" when discussing David Ortiz's blast
Con: back, back, back, back, back, back, back, back, back....
Pro: White Sox great Willie Harris being mentioned
Con: T. Walk not begin mentioned
Pro: Watching guy getting facialized by an oar
Con: Guy not retaliating with his oar
Pro: Bonnie Berstein
Con: No player's bringing Berstein back to the clubhouse for a little extra TLC between at-bats
Pro: Outfielder flashing more leather than the entire Cubs team (except T. Walk)
Con: That same jagoff robbing David Wright's homerun...+ pocketing ball = loud, obnoxious booing by Pittsburgh fans
Pro: David Wright getting censored by ESPN 5 times for dropping the F-bomb
Con: ESPN not censoring the pre-game country music....country music in Pittsburgh....what the fuck!?!?!?!
Pro: former Brewer Mark Loretta interviewed by Bonnie
Con: Where's former Brewer Greg Vaughn?
Pro: Red Sox rook Papelbon admitting to dropping 100,000 on Ortiz winning the Derby on national TV
Con: Lost 100,000 and this gives Selig a way to divert public attention from the steroid scandal...
Pro: Ortiz spitting on his hands
Con: Should have used Moises Alou's extra- grip sticum
Pro: Boomer talking about Gaylord Perry and "wet balls"
Con: Boomer talking about wet balls
Overall, the Derby was a blast...about time there was some excitment in the world of sports and this was all a pre-cursor to tomorrow's festivities, including the celebrity all-star softball game...watch for Nick Lacey as my pick to click.
Stay Classy

Pro: I didn't watch it.
Con: I once enjoyed the derby but now am old, bitter, and jaded and don't enjoy anything I once did.
By the way, Pat's drunk. I'm ninety miles from him and have no proof of this, but I can just tell.
