Next on WGN--Hawk Harrelson Battles Aliens in "Thunder Hawk"!

For those of you not fortunate enough to live in the local WGN Chicago market...

Today's WGN Saturday Afternoon Movie leading up to the Cubs-Brewers game was the Ron Santo documentary This Old Cub. This in istelf would not have been funny except that the WGN used the same promo music and promo voice-over guy that they always use for the Saturday Afternoon Movie--usually some terrible late-80s action flick. Which gave us:

"We now return you to the WGN Saturday Afternoon Movie--[dramatic pause over dramatic music] as Ron Santo stars in [second dramatic pause] This Old Cub."

(Imagine "Ron Santo" and "This Old Cub" replaced by "Jean Claude van Demme" and "Bloodsport.")

Which was then inevitably followed by a scene of Ron playing with his grandkids / Ron putting on his prothstetic / Ron eating peanuts / Ron in some other endearing or touching situation. 'Twas hilarious.

Alright, I guess you had to be there.
