The other All-Star Break

In addition to the Major League All-Stars gathering in Pittsburgh tonight, it's also time for the All-Star break in the Northwoods League (a college summer league that plays everyday like a minor league).

Never mind the idea that they can get a big enough sample size to determine "all-stars" after 6 weeks of action. I'm here to talk about the snubs.

Rochester (Minnesota) Honkers pitcher Dave Sever is 3-0 in four appearances since joining the team in mid-June. His ERA is a stellar 1.42. It is only his 1.09 strikeout to walk ratio that kept him out of this year's midsummer classic in La Crosse, WI...or an anti-Irish bias.
