On a related note to Nate's post about the NFL...

I'm getting sick and tired of Joe Lunardi releasing brackets in the summertime.
The post is a little old, but then again, I don't really go searching for projected brackets in June.
I hate the term "Bracketology." It makes it sound like a legitimate science. What Joe Lunardi does is more commonly called guessing. No more sophisticated than playing Wheel of Fortune. His guesses may be more or less educated, but he is still just guessing.
Especially in the summer. Talk to me in February.

I wouldn't say it's guessing. I would say it's more like using the best meteorology known to man to predict the high temperature on February 18, 2009. The method is there; the effort is there, but it's totally futile and irrelevant.
