Alright Vinnie, you got em
>> Thursday
I actually wasn't planning on picking my own team, but....
"I believe we still plan on having a post within the next couple days where we give the All-Star game picks of each YCS blogger (excluding Mike who only gets to pick MLS All Star teams. By the way, watch out for that upcoming post as we see how he juggles the three-fe'r'ner limit!)."
The MLS All-Star voting closes on Saturday, but I've made up my mind on who I want on the All-Star team. This team's 23-man roster is conveniently placed on The Proper Pitch.
The MLS All-Star game can be seen July 29th on ESPN, from Toyota Park in Bridgeview, IL, the new home of the Chicago Fire. The MLS All-Stars will be taking on English Premier League Champions Chelsea FC. If I were a betting man (Zuch) the smart money is on Chelsea. Chelsea's an All-Star team in themselves, but the best team doesn't always win....[suspense]
As for the "three fer'r'ner limit," I spoke in error before. MLS has expanded rosters this year, allowing for four "senior internationals" on each team. They also added a number of "youth international" slots that are up for grabs around the league.
For this team, I disregarded any limits on foreign players and simply picked the best players at each position, regardless of nationality. The international players on the roster are...
Pat Onstad (Canada)
Claudio Suarez (Mexico)
Dwayne DeRosario (Canada)
Facundo Erpen (Argentina)
Simo Valakari (Finland)
Carlos Ruiz (Guatemala)
Andy Dorman (Wales)
Jaime Moreno (Bolivia)
As for the One Player Per Team rule, I disregarded it. The teams that do not have a representative on my team are the Chicago Fire, Columbus Crew, Colorado Rapids, and New York Red Bulls.

Haha, damn you...I made that remark knowing not whether the MLS even had an All Star game, much less knowing that it's approaching.
If I had things my way, MLS wouldn't have an All-Star game. I'm not going to the game out of protest...and the fact that I don't want to pay $50 to witness what I already know...that Chelsea are a far better club than any team with Landon Donovan on it.
