Tim McCarver, that's strike one (...of ten...I'm feeling generous, but even ten won't be nearly enough)

If I heard him right, he just asserted that Pedro Martinez might have struck out 20 batters if he'd been allowed to pitch the entire 1999 ASG.
Tim--hyperbole can be an effective device for making a point. But hyperbole within reason. That crossed the line. Especially when you sound so damned convinced of every outrageous thing you say.

Yea. If someone strikes out 5 of 6, the only logical conclusion is that the pace would continue indefinitely and one would strike out 22 out of 27 AND the manager would let him pitch in a game with no meaning.
