What The Hell Is Going On With This Guy?
>> Sunday
Prompted by Baseball Tonight's celebration of the greatness of Jose Reyes, I just looked up his numbers for the current season. To be honest, I expected him to be hitting somewhere in the low .300's and for ESPN to be overrating him...again. But, right now Jose Reyes is batting .302 and has an OBP of .361. Also, he's got two more walks than he had all of last season.
What the hell?

Based on whom you listen to, his evolution is the reason why the Mets are in first place. Others will say it's Carlos Delgado. Others will say it's Delgado's influence on Carlos Beltran. Others will say it's Benny Agbayani. (These people don't keep up too well with the Mets, but they're entitled to their opinion too).
It's all a matter of perspective--except for one rock solid fact: a Jose Reyes triple is the most exciting spectacle in the history of sports.
