Ozzie Guillen is Truly an Imbecile
>> Thursday
I don't know how else to put it at this point.
Who else but a complete imbecile would avenge a beanball (that may not have even been intentional) by having a just-called-up rookie reliever throw at the opposing team's star during a 6-0 game and then chew out the probably-fragile rookie for failing to do something completely stupid and hotheaded and unnecessary for which the rookie had no motivation and that, in not doing, resulted in an out--an out that earned him an option to the minors and a denial of the incident from his manager?
*Deep breath*
Among Ozzie Guillen's many transgressions as a manger (e.g. employing unnecessary strategies, acting completely irrationally and unprofessionally, verbally abusing his players, scapegoating his players for his own screw-ups), he can now include royally screwing over a player (and possibly his career).
Instead of simply predicting a short career for Ozzie, I'm gonna go for broke here and put a date on it: May 15, 2008. If he is still managing the White Sox beyond that date, I will be shocked.

Holy crap thank you for posting this! I couldn't believe it when I saw the espn.com article on this.
I've always disliked Ozzie. I despise his attitude and the way he carries himself. Call me a purist, but a baseball manager should never be the main focus of a team, much less one that just won the World Series.
He is an attention whore that is bitter because he never amounted to much in baseball, and his antics are the only way he knows to make up for it.
Being a jackass and embarrassing yourself is one thing, but when you jeopardize someone's career for your own selfish reasons, then you are truly a lost case.
Now don’t get me wrong, I am of the belief that a pitcher should protect his teammates. If the opposing pitcher is throwing at your guys, there is nothing wrong with drilling an opposing batter in the thigh or the backside, but what Ozzie did is unacceptable. So the kid didn’t hit the guy? Big f’n deal. If you wanna say something, wait till after the game and then deal with it… or better yet, let the players handle it. After all, it should be the team leaders’ responsibility to address these issues… not the hot-head manager.
But that’s too much for Ozzie’s dead brain to process. Instead he decided to throw a fit and show up the rookie. Nice going. You’re a manly man, aren’t you Ozzie? By the kid’s reaction, I wouldn’t be surprised if that idiot Guillen told him in the very dugout that he was getting demoted.
I can’t wait till that piece of crap is out of baseball.
