The Eric Gordon Saga
>> Monday
I'll leave the dramatic recaps to sports writers paid to cover this: Eric Gordon changed his mind, To the slimy to go the spoils.
My recap of the whole situation can be best expressed in song form. Coming to you on the B side of Vinnie's Super Bowl Shuffle, here is Eric Gordon's lyin eyes(Yes it is based on an Eagles song guys, but it aptly fits this situation).
Top recruits just seem to find out early
How to open doors with just a smile
A corrupt coach
And he wont have to worry
He’ll dress up all in crimson and go in style
Late at night a big old arena gets lonely
I guess every form of refuge has its price
And it breaks Bruce’s heart to think his love is
Only given to a player with a heart as cold as ice
Eric tells him he must go out for the evening
To comfort a cheating coach whos feelin down
But he knows where hes goin as hes leavin
He is headed for the cheatin side of town
Eric cant hide his lyin eyes
And his smile is a thin disguise
I thought by now Bruce’d realize
There aint no way to hide Eric’s lyin eyes
On the other side of town Kelvin is waiting
With championship hopes and dreams no one could steal
Eric drives on through the night anticipating
cause he makes Kelvin feel the way he used to feel
Eric rushes to his arms,
They fall together
He claims that its only for awhile
He swears to Sampson that soon he’ll be comin back forever
And exits Yogi’s and leaves him with a smile
Eric cant hide his lyin eyes
And his smile is a thin disguise
I thought by now Bruce’d realize
There aint no way to hide Eric’s lyin eyes
Bruce gets up and pours himself a strong one
And stares out at the stars up in the sky
Another night, its gonna be a long one
He dims the lights and hangs his head to cry
Weber wonders how it ever got this crazy
He thinks about a recruit committed to his schoo
lDid he get tired or did he just get lazy?
Eric’s so far gone he feels just like a fool
My, oh my, Kelvin sure knows how to arrange things
He set it up so well, so carefully
Aint it funny how Eric’s new life didnt change things
He’s still the same old Hoosier fan he used to be
Eric cant hide his lyin eyes
And his smile is a thin disguise
I thought by now Bruce’d realize
There aint no way to hide Eric’s lyin eyes
There aint no way to hide Eric’s lyin eyes
EJ, you cant hide your lyin eyes
