Vinnie's Shoe-in of the Week
>> Saturday
Since Zuch has been eliminated from his NFL survivor pool, I'm going to pick up where his "Lock of the Week" left off.
There are a few intriguing lines out there this week. Tennessee (+9.5) and Houston (+13) have potential road blowouts awaiting them at the hands of the Jaguars and Giants, respectively. The bookmakers spot Denver just 3 points in a tough a road game at Pittsburgh and just 7.5 to the Raiders in a Monday-night road game against Seattle.
But for my Shoe-in of the Week, I'm going with St. Louis (-2.5) over Kansas City. Frankly, I'm surprised this line is so slim. The Rams are at home, and the Chiefs, well, they have Damon Huard. Gambling addicts--book this one. Lord know I won't be laying down my own money any time soon, but I'm more than happy to play with anyone else's.
Like all journalistic prognosticator types, I'll track my progress throughout the remainder of the season. And like all journalistic prognosticator types, I'll undoubtedly finish right at, or very near, .500, proving that the bookmakers--as they should--know way more about betting lines than the rest of us fools.

Wow, that's a big shoe!
And a bad pick. Color me 0-1.
