Holy cow... You guys have no idea how thankful I am I wasnt in a sportsbar where I wouldnt of been able to have heard that.. it made my Sunday! Damn you Joe Buck, Damn YoU! lol
I hate Joe Buck. He single-handedly drags down that broadcasting team, because Troy Aikman is actually a damn good announcer. Also, I love whenever Buck tries to say something absurd and dumb, and then Aikman will just kind of force a chuckle and then get back to business. Buck needs McCarver, they deserve each other.
Also, did anyone catch Tony Siragusa's demonstration of pass protection on the sideline during the Saints game last night? Who were the people with him? Was he just pulling people out of the crowd to help him out? What the hell?
I'm not entirely sure what part of this quote I'm more baffled by: that Buck didn't have command of basic 4th or 5th grade math, or that he thought Aikman's years of NFL experience would be the key to unraveling this mystery.
Personally, I think it was a half-assed attempt at humility from Mr. Smarmy. As far as Siragusa goes, a decade of NFL hits has not done his brain any favors.
Either that, or too much of that Twisted Tea he hawks on the radio.
Another thing about Buck that I was pointing out to Pat today--Have you guys ever noticed that he always ALWAYS makes sure to note the artist of whatever song they play coming back from commercial?
"...a little Nine Inch Nails for your Sunday afternoon..."
"...some Killers music for this hot playoff matchup.."
I think he's overcompensating for the reputation of jocks and sports people being ignorant of the arts. Sorry Joe, I don't find you cool or cultured. Just a shallow, shallow, pathetic man.
