Nothing beats a Christmas Head
>> Tuesday
A week and a half ago, Detroit Lions "fans" "staged" a "walkout" in protest of general manager Matt Millen. This follows a fan walkout protest in Baltimore at an Orioles game last season for more or less the same reason: the team blows, and the fans blame management.
Now, while the idea of an organized walk-out may score a petty moral victory, and might get some token local or even national news before failing miserably, nothing tops this kind of fan protest.
A severed goat's head, dripping in blood, wrapped up as a Christmas present, delivered to the general manager's home, where three days later it is opened on Christmas morn.
That's what happened to Palermo GM Rino Foschi this past natale. Never mind the fact that Palermo currently sit in 3rd place (11-5-2, 35 points) in the Italian league, are having one of the best seasons in club history, and are in good position to qualify for the Champions League next season.
Foschi is pretty confident that it wasn't the mafia, despite Palermo being in the heart of Sicily. One has to wonder though. If a package showed up at his doorstep, and he brought it in, not knowing who it was from or what it contained, and his wife opened it, not knowing who it was from or what it contained on Christmas morning, how easy would it have been to get a package containing a bomb, or a midget with an Uzi into his house?

It's Palermo. Of course it has to do with the mafia. He should be thankful a little gun didn't pop out of the head and shoot him.
