Crown their ass (NFC champs)!

Now comes the hard part for Bears fans: withstanding the all-consuming local media buzz that follows the success of any Chicago team.
These next two weeks won't be pretty for those of us who aren't rah-rah dolts. Let's stick together. It might require earplugs.

Yeah, as an avid and long time Bear fan, I have to implore all of the jackass phonies to cram it ...while it will be fun to watch the Bears in the SB, it is going to be horrible listening to all the BS coming out of people's mouth's, kinda when the Cubs were in the playoffs in 2003.
It is almost like the best of both worlds ... nate, matt, what was it like when the Packers went to the Super Bowl, in terms of sports coverage, I'm interested to know?
Nothing, and I mean NOTHING you guys are in for will compare to the absolute obsession from the 96-97 seasons in Wisconsin. Remember, the coverage the Bears get when they're dominating like this year is comparable to the coverage the Packers get when they suck. Still, I don't anyone in a Chicago media market for the next two weeks. Enjoy it, suckjobs.
This seems awfully unfair. Look at the current espn.com poll:
Who was the Bears' MVP in their NFC Championship win?
>Bernard Berrian
>Robbie Gould
>Thomas Jones
>Brad Maynard
>The defense
Uhhh... the "P" in "MVP" stands for "player," stupids.
I was really getting pissed off at all the fans being interviewed on TV (and even the newscasters) last night who were all saying "We never doubted you!"
Shut up. That's what this whole year has been, doubt, and success in spite of it. And as a real fan, if you don't have at least a little doubt, then you're not paying attention, regardless of how good your team is. You're just a rah-rah bandwagon-hopper.
I found it funny this morning how the Bears and Colts Super Bowl was overshadowed actually by the retirement of Parcells ... kinda interesting, maybe there's something to that east-coast bias thing
Also, it's funny how a lot of chicago sportswriters (namely Jay Mariotti and Mini Mariotti - Greg Couch) have officially hopped on the wagon
Mariotti is a fucking clown, he was on Around the Horn today (shut up, it was on when I woke up) talking about how the Bears still suck and Grossman's still shit.
In my experience, more chicago natives put money on the saints than on their own team. They are like, "we will be fans if they win." Most people in chicago are so driven by capitalist dogma to have the ability to be fans of loosing teams.
