Like...There was an All-Star game tonight, eh?
>> Wednesday
Yeah, some league called the NHL that plays hockey I guess. Weird. And the score was 12-9.
But for real, how many of these guys have you actually heard of? Honestly. Not more than five years ago, I considered myself a pretty devoted hockey fan, and I'm recognizing, oh... 70%, maybe 80% of those names, being generous. And these are the biggest stars in the sport. It's sad, really.
I heard all the new space-age uniform hullabaloo, but did anyone know there was an actual game? Did they even televise it?

Aside from Sid the Kid and Alex Ovechkin, let's be honest, maybe the YCS staff can name 4 other players total from the game.
Also, it was televised on "Versus," whatever that is.
Crosby and Ovechkin didn't even score...I swear, the NHL doesn't want any fans.
Let's Review:
NFL: CBS, NBC, Fox
MLB: Fox, ESPN, Local Stations
NBA: TNT, TBS?, ESPN, Local
AFL: ESPN
MLS: ESPN, Univision, FSC, ABC
NASCAR: Fox, NBC, ESPN
NHL: Versus
Oh how the mighty have fallen. They'd have better luck putting the game on Oxygen because then they'd at least run the chance that women (or anyone) would watch and be "Oh my god, that Lubomir Visnovsky is sooooooooo dreamy."
I assume that when they're not showing hockey, Versus just plays the Pearl Jam album on a continuous loop over footage from Eddie Veder's home movie collection. That must be some channel.
You forgot ABC for the NBA. Also, doesn't NBC still show AFL games?
No they switched their TV contract to ESPN this offseason. I also forgot ESPN for Monday Night Football, but I think my point was made.
And for the record, I was able to recognize the names of 5 of the scorers from last night's game, but I probably couldn't tell you what team all of them played for.
Although a moot point, Ovechkin did score a goal.
