BUT, this quote from a story about Pedro Martinez's gardening hobbies may in fact diminish his bad-assedness:
He is planting. He is pruning. He is talking to his tulips. “What about you, beauty?” he will ask in language rarely, if ever, heard on a baseball field. “Aren’t you going to grow up to be so pretty?”
Aren't we all, Pedro. Aren't we all.
I have to admit, I'm just a bit creeped out by Pedro Martinez asking, "Aren't you going to grow up to be so pretty?"

Hahahahaha, that's the funniest damned thing I've ever heard. And I say that with complete certainty. I now want video footage of Pedro talking to his flowers, and I want it immediately.
It confirms what we already all knew: Pedro Martinez is certifiably nuts, as well as awesome.
