Brilliant promotional idea for the White Sox

>> Thursday

I've already lent my genius consulting services to the Brewers. Hopefully, it caught the eye of the White Sox people too because I just came up with a brilliant idea for them. That's what we do here at Vinnie's Brilliant Ideas, Inc., and it's a fool-proof business model. We pay me to think; I churn out brilliant ideas, which is a matter of habit for me. Just another day at the ofice.

So what's this latest great idea from the Vinnie's pipeline? Simple--Invite a special guest to sing the seventh inning stretch during the Cubs-Sox series at the Cell this year. Who, you ask? Why none other than P.R. Chief in Chief, Barack Obama.

The reasons to stage this promotion are multifold and obvious. 1) As we all know, Barry's a huge Sox fan, and since being innaugurated, he's already shown up once at the Cell--to throw out the first pitch on opening day this year. 2) He should have the time, now that he's finished flubbing the big decisions on the economy. 3) It would piss off Cubs fans who feel that they own the celebrity-performed (and occasionally sortafamousperson-performed) seventh inning stretch tradition. 4) We'd get to hear Barry sing! 5) It would settle the current mess in Iran... at least in some alternate reality construed by the lefties in the mainstream media.

Now, some Sox fans might object and be all like, "No! That's something gay the Cubs do, and they're fags who suck! We don't wanna suck like them!" But of course--as seasoned Chicago baseball fans know--the singing of the seventh inning stretch began as a White Sox tradition.

It would be great. They could even have the Motivational Speaker in Chief join Hawk and Stone Pony in the booth to call a few innings and try to catch foul balls with Harry's old fish net. Harrelson-Stone-Obama: What a dream team! My palms are sweating just thinking about it. (Oh wait--that's just because I've my hands in my crotch for the last hour. But still!)

I think the Sox need to act fast on this idea, though, and do it during this year's series before rising unemployment gives rise to civil unrest and ultimately a violent coup, at which point Obama will be just another refugee seeking asylum from the Limbaugh Liberation Militia. In the meantime, though, it'll be fun at the ol' ballpark, Obama-style.

So what do you say, Chairman Reinsdorf? Is it a go? Hell yeah, it's a go! No, thank you, Chairman Reinsdorf. You can send my check to:

California Governor Arnold Schwarzeneggar has joined the bid committee seeking to bring the 2018 or 2022 FIFA World Cup to the United States.

All You Need to Effing Know

>> Monday

People of Wisconsin wondering why the Brewers are going through a wicked late-season collapse: look no further than the following statistic.

Milwaukee Brewers Team OBP: .326

That's 19th in Major League Baseball. The old schoolers will tell you that speed never slumps, but I think the more appropriate adage for the modern era would be that discipline never slumps. This team, from top to bottom with the exception of the extremely unlucky Rickie Weeks and Jason Kendall (on occasion) does not take walks.

For comparison, the Brewers' main contenders for the WC and the NL Central:
Cubs: .359
Cardinals: .348
Phillies: .330 (I'm surprised by this, actually)
Astros: .324 (Not as surprised, but they've been ridiculously hot since the AS Break)

Add to this that the Brewers have actually outperformed their Pythagrean W-L by about 5 games (luck? Better bullpen performances than you'd think? Vinnie?) and you start to see how frustrating this actually is. If the Brewers had consistent OBP guys in the lineup, it's possible we wouldn't be seeing this September swoon.

Ok, I'm done ranting. Also, the Packers are 2-0.

Roberto Mancini was named Italy's top coach for last season today. Last year, Mancini led Inter to a 25-3-10 record. Good enough for their third Serie A title in a row. Mancini led Inter to all three titles; their first since 1989.

Despite all the honors, not good enough. Mancini was fired by Inter earlier this year.

Merda.

Why I Hate The College Spread Offense

>> Saturday

Michigan QB Nick Sheridan - 11/19, 98 Yards

That translates to 5.2 yards per attempt. Terrible numbers, and though you can chalk it up to any number of things (the fact that Sheridan sucks, the new Michigan offense, whatever), the fact is that the spread is just an elaborate system of screens, hitches and slants. It kills the vertical passing game, and I hate it.

To put those YPA numbers in perspective, only 6 NFL teams had YPA numbers that were that bad last year, all of which from teams that had little or no talent at QB (St. Louis, Kansas City, Miami, Baltimore, Carolina and San Fransico).

So much is being made of the need to figure out how to slow down the spread around College Football, but I think it comes down to two or three things: speed, solid tackling and assignment discipline. Teams with enough of each can shut down a spread attack with relative ease.

Pointless and flawed rant over.

From a Steven Davis mlsnet.com article on the dismissal of LA Galaxy's coach Ruud Gullit, who previously coached in Europe, but like many European coaches, found the unique parity-driven nature of MLS fundamentally different, and challenging...

"But that's not the way in MLS, where salary caps and other player acquisition mechanisms are set to keep the playing field, if not completely level, then pretty close to it. Major League Soccer will never be an EPL, a Serie A or La Liga, where two, three or four teams bully the competition and perennially dominate the hardware. There will be no Chelsea, Man United, AC Milan, Barcelona or Real Madrid here. Baseball might work that way in this country (Hello, Yankees. What's up, Red Sox?), but this obviously isn't baseball."

Ignoring the phrase "Hello, Yankees. What's up, Red Sox?"...

Vinnie's Mock 2008 NBA Draft: Draft Day Edition

>> Thursday

Now that the pre-draft posturing and speculation is all but through, here's how I think the lottery selections will shake down (along with Draft Express's picks).

1 Bulls
Draft Express: Derrick Rose, G, Memphis
My prediction: The Bulls will package this pick along with Kirk Hinrich, Tyrus Thomas, Ben Gordon, and Luol Deng in a rumored three-way trade with Miami and New York, in which they would receive Dwyane Wade, Udonis Haslem, the #2 pick, Eddie Curry, David Lee, New York's 2011 first-round pick, Jalen Rose, and Travis Best.

2 Heat
Draft Express: Michael Beasley, F, Kansas State
My prediction: The Bulls select Derrick Rose.

3 Timberwolves
Draft Express: O.J. Mayo, G, USC
My prediction: The T'Wolves select Michael Beasley and trade his rights to the Celtics for Sam Cassell, P.J. Brown, and Brian Scalabrine.

4 SuperSonics
Draft Express: Brook Lopez, C, Stanford
My prediction: The Sonics select O.J. Mayo but are immediately folded, with Mayo's rights falling to Boston.

5 Grizzlies

Draft Express: Kevin Love, C, UCLA
My prediction: The Grizzlies select Kevin Love and trade his rights to the Blazers for Channing Frye.

6 Knicks
Draft Express: Danilo Gallinari, F, Armani Jeans Milano
My prediction: The Clippers trade up for this pick, attempt to draft Gallinari, but write down his team's name instead, ending up with an actual pair of jeans.

7 Clippers
Draft Express: Jerryd Bayless, G, Arizona
My prediction: The Heat select Brook Lopez.

8 Bucks
Draft Express: Joe Alexander, F, West Virginia
My prediction: The Heat trade Ben Gordon and Ricky Davis to the Bucks to acquire this pick and select Robin Lopez after they notice Brook looking forlorn.

9 Bobcats
Draft Express: Russell Westbrook, G, UCLA
My prediction: The Bobcats take Kosta Koufos, prompting Stephen A. Smith to exclaim, "Kosta Koufus? Larry Brown’s a doufus!"

10 Nets

Draft Express: Eric Gordon, G, Indiana
My prediction: The Nets take Alexis Ajinca, who is pelted with grapes.

11 Pacers
Draft Express: Kosta Koufos, C, Ohio State
My prediction: The Bulls step in here to use the Knicks' 2011 pick and take Brittney Griner.

12 Kings
Draft Express: D.J. Augustin, G, Texas
My prediction: The Knicks finally realize that they never used the #1 pick from the Chicago/Miami deal and take Roy Hibbert, who is booed so mercilessly that he cries on David Stern's shoulder.

13 Trailblazers

Draft Express: Alexis Ajinca, C, Hyeres-Toulon
My prediction: The Blazers take Brandon Rush and trade his rights in a five-way trade with Boston, Minnesota, Memphis, and Lottomatica Roma (Italia, Serie A), in which Memphis receives Randy Foye, Brandon Roy, and Brandon Rush; Roma receives Tony Allen. Ray Allen, Allan Ray, and Rudy Gay go to the Blazers, and Foye and Frye are sent to the Celtics, along with Minnesota's conditional 2012 first-round pick. Frye, Foye, Roy, Ray, and Gay all fail their physicals, and the deal falls through.

14 Warriors

Draft Express: Donte Greene, F, Syracuse
My prediction: The Warriors take, ummm... Eric Gordon. Or Russell Westbrook. Whatever. No one's reading anymore.

If fans rush the field, the terrorists win

A Cubs fan who ran on the field was found guilty of felony trespass.

The charge was upgraded from a misdemeanor and I wholeheartedly agree. However, it's not enough. It's high time that we developed ways to keep fans from running on the field. The safety of the players is tantamount. I mean, otherwise, it would be a madhouse on the field. Players would be dropping like flies.

So in a day and age where sacrificing freedom for security has always worked out swimmingly, we present new security solutions.

1.) Make Green Monster-style walls encircle the entire field. It might not be good business for the sightlines in all but the nosebleed seats, but it will enable team owners to further raise prices on the crappiest of seats. For the seats that come up to the Monster walls, nothing deters fans running on the field like a 4-story drop to a premature end. Let's face it, if you're drunk enough to run on the field, you're probably headed for the hospital one way or another that night (Picking a fight with someone bigger than you, alcohol poisoning, drunk driving accident). This would take out the possibility of other people getting hurt as a result of you being a dumbass.

2.) Build a moat. Works for Mexican soccer. But since this is 'Merica, we gotta one up it. Fill it with crocodiles.

3.) Rename every team the Tampa Bay Rays. Then no one will come to see them and you won't have to worry about fans running on the field.

4.) At this point I'd consider the possibility of an electrical fence circling the field, but then two things came to me. First of all, an electrical fence couldn't hold the raptors or the T-Rex in Jurassic Park. Second, that it would probably be much more effective to just have a T-Rex or raptors circling the field. Would make live balls in foul territory more interesting.

5.) Randomly place terminators in the stands, among the fans, just to keep them in line. Sure, we don't have terminators yet, but with the implaccable growth of facebook, it's only a matter of time before it becomes an intelligent Skynet network capable of destroying all life on earth.

6.) While we're on the subject of terminators, let's build a time machine and a terminator. Then we can send him back in time to kill Abner Doubleday's mother. Then he'll never invent baseball and we won't have to worry about lone idiots charging professionally trained athletes. I can't see a more efficient use of resources. Of course...if we do that....then we won't have baseball, and no incentive to build terminators to send back in time in the first place...

7.) Conceal-and-carry. Drunken fans won't be so quick to rush the field if they know the players are packing heat.

So I hope you're listening, Major League Baseball. Follow my suggestions and we can have stadiums that are safe for everyone.

Extended Bill Simmons-esque analogy, minus the pop culture, plus stage direction

>> Saturday

If there's been one story these last few weeks that interests me the least, I think it had to be Tigerlynchmobnoosegate. To be perfectly honest, these stories have become so common and so unbearably formulaic that I just can't bring myself to care. Offensive comment--> Prominent racial activist response--> Jibber-jabber--> Apology--> Jibber-jabber dissecting the apology--> Suspension/firing--> More jibber-jabber--> Everyone forgets.

But this time, it had to do with golf. And somehow, that's always more fun for me. I guess it's because I hate golf, golfers, golf courses (what fantastic wastes of natural resources), people who wear golf shirts on or off the course, and "golf people" in a general sense. Basically--Fuck you, golf.

Oops... Before I go any further, warning labels:

ACHTUNG! ABOUT GOLF
ACHTUNG! OFFENSIVE (?)
ACHTUNG! POORLY CONCEIVED AND EXECUTED

But it's not only that I hate golf. I hate that "it"--being the golf establishment or some other nebulous entity--attempts to uphold that sense of unalterable purity and prestige, especially when its demons are nagging it the most. It reminds me of one of those families that tries to convince both themselves and the outside world of their perfectly happy existence when they are, in reality, fucked up beyond repair. Observe:

Faldo suggested that "to take Tiger on, maybe they should just gang up [on him] for a while."

"Lynch him in a back alley," Tilghman said, laughing.

Scene: Formal dining room, large family holiday gathering.

Super-cheerful uncle: Honey? Would you pass me the rolls?
His equally-cheerful wife: Of course!
Concerned, super-religious aunt: Everything is delicious.
[scattered murmers of agreement followed by an extended silence]

Concerned aunt: I'm worried how we're going to take care of Aunt Martha when she leaves the hospital.
Her radical, slightly goth daughter in late teens: She's 78. Why don't you just euthanize her.
[Utensils drop to plates; a few family members start choking]

"If I got on this show and said I wanted to put some Jewish-American in a gas chamber, I don't care what context I said it in, the entire Jewish community would have the right to say I should be put off this show or my radio show if I said it there," Sharpton told CNN. "Or if I said I wanted to see a woman raped. This is an insult to all blacks. Lynching is not murder in general; it is not assault in general. It is a specific racial term."

Humorless great-uncle: How dare you ever talk about my sister-in-law like that! People who believe in things like that are sick! You're sick to think something like that! How would you have liked it if your parents said, "Lock her in the nuthouse," when you had that nervous breakdown? Come to think of it, maybe they should have!
Goth girl: Oh, go fuck yourself, hypocrite! [stroms from the dining room]
Humorless great-uncle: Don't use that word in my presence, missy!

Woods' agent, Mark Steinberg of IMG, released a statement saying, "This story is a non-issue. Tiger and Kelly are friends and Tiger has a great deal of respect for Kelly. Regardless of the choice of words used, we know unequivocally that there was no ill intent in her comments. This story is a non-issue in our eyes."

Amicable, calm-mannered grandfather: Aw... Come on now. You know how young kids are these days. She's always loved and respected my sister. Young people just say things sometimes.

"There was no ill intent at all," Funk said, according to The Associated Press. "I think it was just a slip, and they said that Tiger has already forgiven her. I think when you're in the TV tower for that many hours, you're going to wish you didn't say some things probably, and that was one thing that slipped out. I think you've got to give them a little grace."

The "chill" uncle: Yeah... You know... That's who she is. She likes to say things that are a little controversial sometimes. You know, she's probably used to being around her friends who'd find that funny, and she just forgot who she was around for a second and just let it out. Don't be so hard on the girl.

"The Golf Channel regrets the poorly chosen remarks made by Kelly Tilghman on a recent broadcast and, again, extends our apologies to anyone who was offended. There is simply no place on our network for offensive language like this. While we believe that Kelly's choice of words was inadvertent and that she did not intend them in an offensive manner, the words were hurtful and grossly inappropriate. Consequently, we have decided to suspend Kelly for two weeks, effective immediately."

Concerned Aunt: Oh! I'm so horrified! I can't believe she said that! I'm so sorry dad... [starting to cry] I don't know how she got like this! I never taught her these things at home. What did I do worng all these years? [composed again] Well, I know one thing--she's grounded.

Golfweek Magazine, as part of a package of stories on the controversy involving Golf Channel anchor Kelly Tilghman's comment that players should "lynch [Tiger Woods] in a back alley," used the image of a noose on the cover of its Jan. 19 issue.
In an editorial in the magazine, the editors wrote: "Like it or not, Tilghman's 'Lynch him in a back alley' remark about Tiger Woods was national news. The debate about the severity of her punishment -- at this writing a two-week suspension -- fueled heated debate on Web sites, in newspapers and on national TV. The furor begs rational analysis."

"Chill" uncle: First of all, how do you ground a 19 year-old? Second of all, maybe we should listen to her once in a while. Maybe some of her opinions don't fit in with your dreams of the prim-and-proper nuclear family with Hallmark-style holidays, but that doesn't mean we should shoot them down. Maybe people in this country do need to have serious dialogue about euthanasia, or at least the values and tough decisions that an aging Baby-Boomer generation will force us all to examine.

"Clearly, what Kelly said was inappropriate and unfortunate, and she obviously regrets her choice of words," Finchem said in a statement. "But we consider Golfweek's imagery of a swinging noose on its cover to be outrageous and irresponsible. It smacks of tabloid journalism. It was a naked attempt to inflame and keep alive an incident that was heading to an appropriate conclusion."

Humorless great-uncle: How can you defend her?! What she said was bad enough, but she's sick in the head and has no morals. You should know better!
"Chill" uncle: I'm not trying to defend her, you self-righteous bore. I'm just saying that maybe this family should talk about these things once in a while instead of pretending that everything's fine all the time when it's not.
Anal retentive aunt: We were having a perfectly fine holiday until that girl had to open her mouth. Eveyone in this family agrees that she was wrong, and things were about to be fine again if you could just drop it!

"Jack was not speaking on behalf of the PGA Tour," spokesman Ty Votaw said Friday. "I can categorically tell you the PGA Tour has not threatened any advertising pull."

Typically-shy cousin: Wait... I'm part of this family too, and I can think for my--

"Most people who are objecting to it -- within the golf industry -- are saying this episode was just about over," Seanor said. "I think it's indicative of how, when you bring race and golf into the same sentence, everyone recoils."

"Chill" uncle: Fine? How can you say it's fine? It's never been fine. Why do you think the girl turned into such a rebel in the first place? You think that cynicism has nothing to do with this family? [turning to the concerned aunt] You couldn't fool your daughter with your perfect-family crap all these years, and now she's psychologically damaged. You finally have a chance to confront these issues and--possibly--salvage your relationship with your daughter... and you ground her?

"If we stopped the train every time somebody made a dumb remark that is potentially offensive," he is quoted as saying, "we'd never progress as a society."

"I wish we could have come up with something that made the same statement but didn't create as much negative reaction," he said. "But as this has unfolded, I'm glad there's dialogue. Let's talk about this, and the lack of diversity in golf."

"Chill" uncle: Look... What she said gave us a chance to address some tough issues that are gonna face this family in the near future and--not only that--a chance to sort out some major issues in this family. But you know what? If you wanna spend the rest of your life sneaking off to the guest bedroom closet with your bottle of vodka, knowing that your daughter will never speak to you again, be my guest. I don't really care.

Ten days after a Golf Channel anchor was suspended for her use of "lynch" in commentary on Tiger Woods, an editor was fired Friday for illustrating the controversy with a noose on the cover of Golfweek magazine.

Strong matriarchal figure: [to "chill" uncle] I think should leave now.
"Chill" uncle: Yes, mother. [walks out the front door]

"We apologize for creating this graphic cover that received extreme negative reaction from consumers, subscribers and advertisers across the country," Turnstile Publishing Co. president William P. Kupper Jr. said. "We were trying to convey the controversial issues with a strong and provocative graphic image. It is now obvious that the overall reaction to our cover deeply offended many people. For that, we are deeply apologetic."

Storng matriarchal figure: I'm so sorry to all of you the way my son acted. He means well, but he doesn't know when to stop himself sometimes.
Amicable grandfather: Hey, what was all this commotion I heard out here? I was on the crapper.
Anal-retentive aunt: We had to ask your nephew to leave.
Amicable grandfather: Over what the girl said?
Super-religious great-uncle: Yes.
Amicable grandfather: Sheesh! Leave the girl alone, already.

"We know we have a job ahead of us to re-earn the trust and confidence of many loyal readers," Babineau said. "Our staff is very passionate about the game. Our wish is that one regretful error does not erase more than 30 years of service we've dedicated to this industry."

Super-cheerful uncle: Well, now that we've got that mess all out of our way, let's all have dessert. We're not gonna let one little spat ruin another perfect holiday, are we?
Equally-cheerful wife: No, siree! Now who wants bundt cake?

Irish to Head West

Despite missing out on a bowl game, suffering more losses than any year in school history, and generally being the national laughingstock of college football, Notre Dame can claim one thing. Undefeated champion of California. The Irish went undefeated in the Golden State in 2007, notching wins at UCLA and Stanford. Their loss to USC was at Notre Dame.

Following their victory over Stanford, the Irish announced that they would be playing the entirety of next season in California.
"Sure, I guess it will be hard holding practice and classes in South Bend and playing every week in California, but you can't argue with results. Bottom line is we won twice as many games in California this year as we won in South Bend," coach Charlie Weis told reporters having been doused with gatorade after the glorious victory over the Cardinal.
Irish QB Jimmy Clausen agreed, "If anything, it'll help from the stands. Forget those asshole alums who expect national titles every year as their god-given rights even though they never set a foot on the field. Leave them in South Bend. How's the lake-effect snow you fucks? I'm sitting on the beach in Cali with smokin' hot ladies instead of stuck-up pizza-faced girls named Colleen and Maureen from Renssalaer." As for the fans, they're just glad we're showing up in their part of the country.

Sports Illustrated is Shipping Up To Boston

>> Monday

That Dropkick Murphys song rules.

I'm not sure how many of you subscribe to SI - I know Vinnie does, but he's barely literate and has admitted to not really keeping up with it. For those that don't, you might not be aware that SI has had a Boston sports team on its cover for four straight weeks, something even they acknowledged this week on one of the photos in "Leading Off."
Where do they go from here? They've covered the Sox World Series, the Pats' dominance and KG and co.'s arrival in Boston. If they're going to stick with the Boston theme, they may have to get clever. Because YCS is such a legitimate media outlet, we've gotten some advance copies of this week's possible cover shots. Enjoy. Or don't, whatever.

Yeah, this is a joke, but come on - would you really be that surprised to see a story like this?

Ed: I found this picture on a Google search for Manny Ramirez. Apparently, he's selling this grill on ebay. I find it hilarious that the fact that Manny Ramirez used to own it is considered a selling point.

And finally, should this Boston-centric media deluge continue...

A made-up complaint letter by a made-up guy named Bob

>> Friday

Dear Person Who Owns the Chicago Cubs:

My name is Bob, and I have a complaint. Just to let you know, I've been a big Cubs fan for years, but I'm just stewing mad about my experience at Wrigley Field last night.

First of all, your street ticket vendor who sold me my ticket charged $300! Now that's outrageous. If I'd known it would be that expensive, I'd have never come! But by that time, I'd already paid for parking, so I figured, "What's another few hundred dollars?"

But here was the kicker: When I asked the usher to tell me where my seat was--oh, by the way, I have really poor vision, a premise on which this entire letter rests--she said it was in the upper-deck! $300 for an upper-deck seat? I was outraged but not surprised, what with all these high ticket prices they've ruined baseball with.

Then I heard another usher say that the police were there. Now this just scared the daylights out of me. From that piont on, my night was ruined, as I spent the whole time wondering what was amiss. And just between us, I have some priors.

So there I sat for at least an hour without any sign of the game starting--oh by the way, I also have terrible hearing, so my frequent pleas of, "What's going on here?" went unanswered by the folks around me--and all that time waiting, none of the vendors were working. I started getting hungry!

Finally, at about 9 o'clock, some music group starts playing. Apparently, what I'd thought was the tarp and grounds crew based on my really poor vision was actually a stage and musicians. By the way, you might be wondering why I would attend baseball games--not to mention how I'm able to drive to the park--with such terrible vision. Well, I'll tell you this; hearing the crack of the bat is all I need to draw me to the ballyard. Of course, I can't do that so much anymore either. So no, going to baseball games is not nearly as pleasurable as it once was for me.

Anyway, I figured this was just one of those "Disco Night" promotions that they've ruined baseball with, so I thought the group would play a song or two and be done. But it kept on going! By about 10:30, I realized that it would be at least 11:15 by the time the band stopped and the stage was cleared away for baseball. And I was already tired! And I was still hungry.

Well by 11 o'clock, I'd gotten really tired of this music group. They were playing a song where they kept screaming "Roxanne! Roxanne! Roxanne!"--by the way, I make out "r" and "x" sounds much better than others--over and over and over again. I guess that's what passes for music these days. And to think how hard I've worked my whole life when all I had to do was scream "Roxanne!" all day, and people would have paid me for it.

Anyway, the group finally stopped playing, but by then it was almost 1 o'clock! I couldn't believe they would start a baseball game so late, but who knows with all these national TV schedules they've ruined the baseball with.

Well then everyone starts cheering, and I think the game's about to start. The people next to me were chanting "Sting! Sting!" so I figured that they were fans of the road team. I'd never heard of that team before, but I figured they must be one of those new teams they keep ruining baseball with. Plus, they kept pointing and laughing at my Cubs hat and my homemade Cubs scorecard, which would have been exceedingly difficult to fill out with my severe vision deficiencies. I suppose that part of the story doesn't relate to my complaint, except to remind you that they're ruining baseball.

Well after about five minutes, the band starts playing again! At that point, I'd had it with the lack of vendors and these stadium gimmicks that they're ruining baseball with. So I got up and left.

Needless to say, it was the worst baseball experience I've ever had. Now I've been a Cubs fan for many years, and I've usually been quite satisfied. I don't want to raise a public ruckus, but I expect to receive a refund of my $300 purchase and a personal apology from you, the owner. I'm sure you're a kind, individual human being dedicated to the quality of your baseball team, so I don't feel that's too much to ask of you.

Respectfully,

Bob
