First Bracket of the Season
>> Friday
Now that I finally maneuvered a way to renew my College RPI subscription, I have just belted out my first projected bracket of the season. I have been doing this since my high school days, and generally have a strong gauge on what the bracket will look like. Hopefully last season's atrocity will fade into oblivion and this committee gets it right again. After a couple of seasons where the mid-majors attained a good number of bids, the big boys have fought back this season. Currently, 29 of my 34 projected at large hail from BCS conferences, with all but the Big 10 getting 6 bids or more. In one of the closest battles, Kansas edges out the good guys for the final 2 seed and coveted spot in the Chicago pod.

Nice bracket....Got a funny feeling A&M ends up a #1 seed before its all said and done
I think A&M is a good enough team to be a 1 seed, but they lack the premier non-conference win to elevate over Florida, UNC, Wisconsin, UCLA unless one of those teams absolutely collapses.
I hate the ACC, but nonetheless I'm intrigued by your seedings of the ACC teams. Could you shed some light on their seedings? I'm especially curious about UVa. Besides UNC, most of the ACC looks pretty mediocre, don't they?
I'd take that draw for MU any day of the week.
Even though I'm a little late to the discussion here, the main reason why ACC teams have solid seeds is their out of conference performance. Even with Duke only 5-6 in ACC play, the have non-conference wins over Georgetown, Air Force and Indiana. Virginia has a solid win over Arizona, Florida State over Florida. I'm not a big fan of the ACC either, but it is the best conference this season.
