Any selfish defending of the one and done rule I may have done in the past (though I've never fully supported it, just enjoyed watching guys like Rose, Oden, Durant and O.J. Mayo on a college court) is definitely over with. Baseball's model where you either go pro out of high school or commit to playing 3 years (I'd adapt it for 2 possibly for basketball) is a good one, as the NCAA should not be the ones that have to pay the price for a bunch of dumbass NBA GM's that cannot properly evaluate and project. Also, I can't blame these kids for wanting to turn pro at 18 when you can in every other work of life except football (and in football, you basically need the 2-3 years of physical maturity).
College sports is a dirty, dirty business. Rose just happens to have gotten caught, though nothing will be done about it. The NCAA needs to work on quashing this sorta crap the year it happens, not a year or more later. The NBA should just allow these guys to play, and quit making schools give scholarships to 1 year players.
